Each year, the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation hosts a weekend-long convention called Think Tank for water skiers across the state to come together to sharpen their skills before ski season starts and to spend time with other water skiers! This year’s event was in the Wisconsin Dells, and Tyler and I spent the weekend exploring at the Wilderness Resort. Here’s what you can expect from a place that is equally resort and wilderness! (This post is not sponsored).
Our room had all of the cozy northwoods vibes I’m so fond of! There was wooden furniture, a pair of snowshoes hanging on the wall, and accent colors of dark green and light brown. The hallways, restaurants, and waterparks also echoed this theme. I felt instantly at home!
There are plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks and dessert scattered throughout the resort! We visited the Wild Canyon Cafe in the morning, Survivors Bar & Grill and The Thirsty Buffalo Saloon in the evenings, and Yukon Yogurt for a quick pick-me-up. Tyler also stopped at The Candy Cabin for some delicious fudge!
Look out the window along the Lost Canyon Skywalk and you can take in the view that makes the Wisconsin Dells such an iconic place to visit, which includes an expanse of tall trees juxtaposed with a valley carved out of rock. You are also just a few minutes drive from natural landmarks like Lake Delton and Rocky Arbor State Park!
America’s Largest Waterpark Resort knows what’s up! There are four indoor AND four outdoor waterparks at the Wilderness, each with its own theme and rides. Be sure to ride the Hurricane if you’re looking for a thrill, and don’t forget to stop for a photo-op in the Wild Waterdome Waterpark’s big tube, located next to America’s largest indoor wave pool!
The Wildness Resort truly lives up to both parts of its name and is a great place for both adventure and relaxation. Though known for its reputation with families, it provided a fun weekend getaway for Tyler and I; you’d be surprised how much fun a waterpark date can be as an adult! Which Wisconsin Dells resort is your favorite? I’d love to hear your recommendations in the comments below!
